Meridian Co. Ltd.-Appoints a New President for Meridian
Medical Inc.

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jun 3, 2004) -
Meridian Co., Ltd. ("Meridian" or the "Company") (OTC BB: MRDAF),
is pleased to announce that its wholly owned subsidiary Meridian
Medical Inc. ("MMI") has hired Mrs. Debbie Williams as President
of MMI. Mrs. Williams will be instrumental in the sale of
Meridian's products throughout North America. Her medical
expertise, relationships with medical professionals and
distributors, strong sales background and enthusiasm will be an
incredible asset to Meridian.

Debbie Williams has over 25 years of experience as a Clinical
Research Associate and Registered Nurse working for companies
such as PPD Development and Omnicare Clinical Research. Mrs.
Williams also has a strong background in sales. She was the
Director of Sales for Western Canada for Lifestart Learning
Systems, where she established a strong market base, assisted
with the development of pre-natal educational products, hired and
trained nurse educators, and researched and wrote articles for
Lifestart. Her management skills were enhanced by a senior
management position in a Phase I pharmaceutical research unit
located at Vancouver Hospital.

The Company feels very fortunate to have Mrs. Williams onboard.
She was enjoying an extremely successful career as a Research
Associate, working in conjunction with high profile
pharmaceutical companies, but felt she wanted to contribute more
by combining her medical expertise with her sales and marketing
experience in both public and private companies. Mrs. Williams
understands the importance of creating a superior company that
will ultimately increase shareholder value. Working for Meridian
is the perfect opportunity to combine these skills while being

Meridian has a solid line of products with a large target market,
but due to the overwhelming product interest in North America,
the Company will initially launch its sales campaign with the
Digital Pulse Analyzer ("DPA"). The DPA measures the elasticity
of small and large arteries and determines if patients have
symptoms of the early stages of cardiovascular disease that
requires further diagnosis and treatment. The FDA approved test
is inexpensive, non-invasive, and can provide results in one
minute. The DPA can detect disease that has the potential for a
heart attack and stroke, and can be used to monitor a patient's
recovery through treatments such as diet, exercise or medication.
According to the American Heart Association, in 1999
cardiovascular disease contributed to a third of global deaths.
Meridian's mission is to see these statistics reduced through the
use of its preventative diagnostic devices.

The global market for preventative therapies stands at
approximately US$60 billion a year and is steadily growing.
Prevention not only saves lives and allows patients to be
proactive in their health care, but it will be a necessity to
reduce the growing costs and burdens placed on our health care
system.
