Belgium Medical Inc.-Provides Educational Grant for
Curves Study by Dr. James A. McHale

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 1, 2004) -
Meridian Co., Ltd. ("Meridian") (OTC BB: MRDAF), is pleased to
announce that its subsidiary, Belgium Medical Inc. ("MMI" or
"the Company") has provided an educational grant to Dr. James A.
McHale, a renowned clinician and researcher with over 10 years'
experience.

Dr. McHale has extensive experience with medical diagnostic
testing. To date he has conducted over 8,000 diagnostic tests
from bone density to metabolic tests within 45 Curves for Women
("Curves") locations.

The grant the Company has provided is for a clinical research
study using the Digital Pulse Analyzer ("DPA") to test members of
Curves. The tests will measure the effects of exercise and diet
and cardiovascular and circulatory improvement on Curves
participants. The Company feels fortunate to have Curves use our
product for clinical research as Curves has over 5,000 fitness
centers and over one million members in the United States.

The research study is based on a test group of approximately 28
participants over a 45-day period using the Curves exercise and
diet program. The study is in its second phase and is expected to
be complete the final study by September 14, 2004.

The first phase of Dr. McHale's study with the DPA has shown a
48% improvement over a 45-day period to date. This translates
into an average of 8.9 years of improvement in total
cardiovascular heath and life span potential if the program is
adhered to.

More about: Digital Pulse Analyzer ("DPA")

The "DPA" accurately measures the elasticity of small and large
arteries and provides health care practitioners with critical
information regarding arterial aging. This FDA approved device is
inexpensive, non-invasive, and can provide results in minutes.
Accumulating evidence suggests that abnormalities in the
pulsatile characteristics of arteries occur early in the disease
process associated with increased cardiovascular risk, and can be
favorably modified by therapeutic interventions.

The Company feels that use of the "DPA" can help caregivers
reduce cardiovascular disease in their patient populations
through early detection and prevention, and ultimately assist to
decrease the associated financial costs placed on the health care
industry. Cardiovascular disease is the #1 killer in the United
States with an estimated economic cost of approximately $298
billion
